A Blog About Hip-Hop and C.L.R. James!

Well, ChuckO mentioned it at Another Blog is Possible (at my suggestion), and Rob posted a recommendation at Loveecstacycrime based on a tip from the post where I first heard about it, at History Is Made at Night, but I’ve just been dragging my feet getting the word out myself about Democracyandhiphop.com.  Why have I been taking so long?  Well, I wanted to take the time to write a post that would do justice to this fascinating combination of things…  Especially since just a couple of weeks ago, I was actually reading the new reprint of Facing Reality (co-written by James and Grace Lee Boggs (then writing as Grace C. Lee), whom the blog that we’re all talking about discusses in its most recent post) .  And, needless to say (that is, I probably don’t even need to tell readers here) that during this period of time I was also listening to at least a little revolutionary hip-hop (not to mention some DJ reggae and dancehall music)…  So it seemed just a perfect time for me to stumble upon this blog.

And what else can I say (given that I don’t have the time)?  Just that I recommend it too, of course.
